GREEN MOViES

Bringing sustainability into early education

GREEN MOViES is a European Erasmus+ project that brings together environmental education, creativity and digital storytelling to help children explore sustainability from an early age.

Through stop-motion animation, hands-on activities and collaborative storytelling, the project supports educators in making complex environmental concepts accessible, engaging and meaningful.

At its heart is a simple idea: children learn about the world by exploring it, imagining it and creating stories about it.

OUR MISSION

Learning to care for the world

GREEN MOViES aims to support the ecological transition in early childhood and primary education
by introducing the European GreenComp framework through creative audiovisual learning.
The project encourages children to develop environmental awareness while strengthening teachers’
ability to combine sustainability, STEAM education and digital creativity.
Rather than using technology only to consume content,
children are encouraged to use it critically, creatively and collaboratively.

What We Aim to Achieve

Three goals.

One shared vision.

0

Build green competences

Introduce sustainability concepts
through age-appropriate experiences
that encourage curiosity, observation
and environmental awareness.

0

Empower educators

Support teachers in developing digital skills and integrating GreenComp, STEM and storytelling into their educational practice.

0

Turn learning into creation

Engage children in collaborative storytelling
and stop-motion filmmaking,
transforming environmental ideas
into original visual stories.

How the Project Works

From exploration to storytelling

GREEN MOViES combines environmental education, GreenComp, STEM and creative storytelling through a project-based learning approach. Teachers develop new educational methods and digital skills, while children explore sustainability themes and create their own stop-motion animations. The project will produce 20 GreenComp briefings, an open toolkit for teachers and collaborative films connecting classrooms across Europe through a shared narrative, while evaluating the impact on learning, creativity and environmental awareness.

Through collaboration between educational institutions and organisations from Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Türkiye and Greece, the project encourages the exchange of experiences, educational methods and creative practices. Together, the partners develop resources that can be shared and adapted beyond participating classrooms, making sustainability education more creative, accessible and meaningful for young learners.
